For the 20 years that ITMI has been in Tempe, volunteers have been
a vital part of the ministry. All of our mailings are processed
by these faithful workers. They come once a month to process and
send the mission's Newsletter and at different times, as needed,
perform other duties.
They
come with smiles and eager hands. They come when needed and are
slow to leave. These willing soldiers are a blessing to the permanent
ITMI staff.
MISSIONARY VOLUNTEERS
ITMI, from its inception, intended that the mission's primary thrust
would be that of a service ministry, that is: supplying material
needs, bringing Bibles, and going to foreign countries to help with
and evaluate medical, building, and spiritual needs.
Initially, ITMI was not to be a sending mission (having personnel
permanently stationed in a foreign country). However, in recent
years, people have come to us, wanting to serve in countries where
ITMI has a presence. The mission began by sending Ron and Jane Dissly
to Poland for 5 years to minister while teaching English as a second
language. Since then others have candidated to go to Poland and
other countries.
Missionary
candidates may go on a short term basis (two months to two years)
or for periods of two to five years or longer.
