What is unique about ITMI?

In Touch Mission International was founded in 1981 by Bill and Harriett Bathman to serve the persecuted and suffering Church. Today, ITMI partners with national Christians who face a variety of challenges as they reach their communities for Christ. In faith, we seek to present the ministries of these nationals to as many people as possible. In prayer and communication with others, we trust God to provide for their needs.

Why does ITMI focus on Nationals?

Trained national Christians are the most effective witnesses for reaching their communities with the Gospel of Christ. They live in the community, know the culture and language, and understand the best way to evangelize and disciple their neighbors. By equipping these partners, ITMI seeks to effectively reach the nations with the Gospel for a fraction of the cost of sending an American missionary to the field. ITMI seeks out worthy national Christian workers who are engaged in wholistically ministering to the needs of those around them, even though they lack the resources to truly serve all their needs. Our ITMI Project Partners are dynamic visionaries who dream big, but have also learned to be content with what God provides.

How can I get involved?

Volunteer: We could not do what we do without the help of good volunteers. If you can’t go to Africa or Eastern Europe to evangelize, consider helping our Project Partners evangelize in their communities by volunteering at ITMI. It’s a great way to impact these countries with the Gospel. Contact our Office to discuss the possibilities.

Prayer: ITMI Project Partners are just like us. They need prayer warriors to battle for them as they face the challenges of spreading the Gospel. Sign up to receive periodic email updates that contain timely news as well as the current needs of our partners in the field. Prayer requests are published in our monthly newsletter in the “For Prayer” section. Sign up to receive our newsletter via email or US mail.

Go Short-Term: Often our Project Partners can utilize individuals or teams on a short-term basis to provide support to their ministries in a variety of ways. A few of the activities that teams have helped with in the past include: serving in Children’s Camps for foster kids, teaching discipleship training courses, and lending a helping hand in the construction of the New Life Center in Poland. If you have a group that is interested in helping one of our Partners overseas, contact our Office for more information. For more examples of ways in which short-term missionaries have previously assisted our Project Partners, visit our Short-Term Missions page.

Financial Support: One of the ways in which we help our Project Partners is by receipting funds for the support of their ministries. While this is not their only need, it certainly is an important one. The financial support from donors through ITMI enables our partners do what God has called them to do. To donate via credit card, call our office at (480) 968-4100 or Toll-Free at (888) 918-4100.

Share Contacts or Raise Funds: Help us get the word out about our Project Partners and their ministries. Here are some things that have been very beneficial to our partners in the past. You can 1) forward our email updates to people you think might be encouraged to get involved, 2) when our partners visit the US on itinerary, ask your church, small group, or other contacts if a Project Partner can share about their ministry, or 3) organize and/or direct a fundraiser for the project of your interest.
