ITMI Statement of Purpose

Statement of Purpose Image

IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL (ITMI) is first and foremost an evangelistic mission dedicated to winning precious souls to Jesus Christ. Our primary target is the communist world, Islamic areas of the world, and other restricted-access countries. ITMI’s strategy involves personal on-the-field witness and representation. The Executive Director and various members of the ITMI Board travel regularly to countries in which the mission has an interest. Our policy involves taking specifically chosen people with us on these mission trips in order that their gifts of preaching or medical expertise can be of benefit to the Christians there. Priority in this area is understandably given to those friends whom the Lord has made a part of our support team.

IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL supports church planting and building. ITMI provides tools for local national workers to use and thus improve the efficiency of their ministry for Christ.

IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL is concerned for countries that lie in the immediate path of communist and Islamic advance; prepares the local church overseas for continued evangelistic endeavor and worship in an underground situation should the communists take over in their country. We worked in Rhodesia for example before it became Zimbabwe, and South West Africa before it became Namibia.

IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL is engaged in finding solutions to major problems facing world missions today, among them: (1) doors closing overseas to American missionaries, (2) devalued dollar, (3) increase in terrorist activity, (4) dropout after one term (”how can we conserve dedication?”).

IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL tells the true story of the persecuted, suffering church in communist and Islamic lands. ITMI realistically evaluates the current changes taking place in restricted-access countries.

Another important aspect of IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL is research. ITMI seeks to study current trends; identify contemporary problems; and anticipate eventual needs. . .then to meet them head on by scriptural methods. We don’t want to answer questions that aren’t being asked or meet “needs” that no longer exist.

IN TOUCH MISSION INTERNATIONAL is synonymous with good communication. We not only want to keep in touch with you, but put you in touch with a world of information, in a world of need and with a world of people, many of whom are anonymous but far from ordinary.
