Location: South Africa, Democratic Republic of Congo, Zambia
Timeline: On-going
Status: Currently operating
Topics: Training Christian leadership, Christian political activism
The Need
Africa is gripped by conflict and political unrest. As secular forces grapple for power, Africa experiences the rise of pornography, abortion, terrorism and clear political maneuvers to devalue life, the family and Christianity. It is in this context that Frontline Fellowship (FF) seeks to promote Biblical principles and godly values. FF is heavily involved in preaching, Bible and literature distribution, for the purpose of discipling the many newer Christians who have never received proper doctrinal teaching or access to books which promote growth in Christ, including the Bible. FF’s sister mission, Africa Christian Action (ACA), exists to organize political action that saves lives such as prayer vigils, peaceful protests, and rallies.

Description
Charl van Wyk is Assistant Director of Frontline Fellowship, Director of Africa Christian Action, presenter of “Salt and Light” a weekly radio program, Editor of Firearm News, Manager of Christian Liberty Books and the author of “Shooting Back: The Right and Duty of Self-Defence”. Charl’s activities include organizing prayer vigils, marches, protests and rallies, as well as giving seminars on various topics. Charl and those who work with him have seen pornography removed from shelves, crisis pregnancy centers open, medical personnel refusing to perform abortions, and dial-a-porn services canceled as a result of their efforts. Charl also leads periodic mission trips to Zambia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The trips have been successful in training thousands of Christian leaders to implement Biblical principles into their daily responsibilities.

The History
Charl is known as the “man who shot back” at terrorists during the St. James Massacre on July 25, 1993. He received a citation from General Acker of the South African Police, for his courage under fire, which halted the attack and saved many lives. Since that time, Charl has been given many opportunities to witness to his attackers - in prison and as a speaker in their conventions! To keep up with Charl’s monthly updates, click here.
