Angel’s New Home - Update March 2011

Hello and Greetings from South Africa
March 25, 2011

What an unexpected turn of events, on the 21 of February I flew to the USA to be with my father who had a heart attack. When I decided to book the tickets to fly over we still had no news of how severe it was. To make a long story short, he is now doing very well and has taken some time off work at the post office to rest and also to get back into shape through physical therapy. I was able to spend some quality time with my parents. 3 days after my dad’s heart attack my Mom fell and broke her arm. So it worked out to be perfect timing for a visit, especially because they had just sold their home and were beginning to move. Cherise and I prayed and decided that I would go alone and she and the kids would stay behind and keep things running smoothly.

Well the month I spent in the US has come and gone and I’m back in SA fully recovered from Jetlag.I was able to help my parents, visit my brother and his family and squeeze in a few ministry updates. By no means was I able to reach everyone, I had a list of friends I wanted to call and see, but I was only able to meet a few, so please forgive me.

Just recently we had good friends visit from Wyoming for a 2 week trip, Steve Landis and Erik Wachob. We started construction on a house for Angel, here are photos of the current home for her and 4 children. The green rondavel on the right is falling down quickly and she is building this house on the left as the replacement. A few weeks ago when Cherise and I told her that we had friends who wanted to help build a new cement block home, she broke down and cried.

Melissa’s rondavel is also a project we had significant progress on during the two weeks. I will let you know when I update the blog with new photos! There are two springs here on the farm and we have began to develop one that is above the houses and will hopefully pipe it down to use for year around vegetable gardens. If you would like to be involved with any of our projects please email us at 7riversct@gmail.com or just send us a note to say hi, we love to get personal emails.
