Second Anniversary

Dear Team,

This month marks the second anniversary of the Islamic terror attack on New York and Washington, D.C. The resulting “War on Terror” continues. If we truly believe that Jesus Christ is “the Way, the Truth and the Life” then we must do all that we possibly can to win Muslims to Christ. We can no longer remain silent, when Jesus says, “Ye are my witnesses.” We need not be afraid, because He says “fear not.”

An excellent tool for you to have in reaching Muslims for Christ is the “Muslim Evangelism Manual” by Dr. Peter Hammond. Supplies are limited, so order soon.

Looking back: Its been a wonderful summer of meeting new friends and visiting some old ones. Our deputation trips have been spiritually blessed and the Lord has raised up some new and much–needed support for the Mission. Its also been a long, hot summer of going through 22–years of files and keeping only the ones that provide historic continuity.

Looking around: We’ve started our countdown, packing and getting ready to go back to our home in Cape Town, South Africa early next month. Much work is waiting there!

Looking ahead: I’ve had a lot of encouragement from Romanian friends to translate my book Going Through, Even if the Door is Closed into the Romanian language. Apart from the obvious market in Romania there are thousands of Romanians living in the USA who would welcome a firsthand account of how Christians in the West were able to help their fellow–Christian brothers and sisters behind the Iron Curtain during the Cold War.

Dr. Adrian Ban and his wife Ema have graciously volunteered to translate the book. There will be the cost of printing in Romania. I am more than willing to assign all rights to the Romanian version and any profit from the sales, both there and in the US to further the spread of the Gospel in that country so dear to my heart.

They will need help with the printing costs however. Here’s an investment opportunity that can challenge and inspire a new generation of Romanians to obey the Great Commission and thereby produce eternal results.

We have all been blessed this summer in Phoenix by the life and ministry of Miss Alicia van Huyssteen, a South African student at Moody Bible Institute that ITMI is helping. Her dedication to Jesus Christ is an inspiration and challenge to all who know her. Thank you for your response to her financial needs for room and board at MBI. By God’s wonderful provision, she returned to Chicago with her 1st and 2nd semester’s room and board covered.

Correction: last month, in the For Praise section, I said that Christopher Hammond was 7 years old. Grandpa was mistaken. This young man was 8 years old on August 11. His Dad told me he has climbed both Table Mountain and the Lions Head in Cape Town. On his Birthday weekend he participated in an evangelist outreach with his family and the Frontline team in four major shopping malls and gave balloons with scripture texts to lots of children there. Thank you for your continued prayers for this miracle boy who was given only 5 days to live when he was born – 8 years ago!
