Transforming Poland

Beloved,

You may remember that aside of being a translator I am also a preacher and a pastor. So let me update you on what is going on with us in the part of the world called Poznan, Poland.

1. Today is December 4th and I just finished translating Acts 15. So there 13 chapters to go and 27 days of December remaining. It looks then like we are on schedule and by the end of the year the translation of the New Testament will be done. Thank you for your prayers. Sometimes it is not easy to keep up with our half a chapter a day.

2. I am doing an expository preaching on the Book of Acts in two churches now: in 5N Church in Poznan and in Gniezno Baptist Church. With the believers we are trying to discover the principles that can help us have an innovative church in the twenty first century.

3. On December 14th with our 5N Church we will celebrate the first anniversary of our existence. Great surprise! The City of Poznan expressed a willingness to rent us the building they refused one year ago. I wish you could see this place. Great for those who love to turn junk into a piece of art. We will need a lot to make it workable. By the way, would some of you suffer me sending you some pictures? (Not high quality ones, but just to help our imaginations and realities). This week we start the negotiations with the city concerning the terms of a rent. No, we do not expect civilized terms. Remember, this is a post-communist, corrupted country. We already know, that whatever we will do to the place will not be reimbursed. Well, looks like our Father really has a lot of money.

4. Though a great preacher that I am (joking) I do my best to keep fit in personal evangelism. Looks like the person I am working on finally understood that without Jesus he is lost forever. I will sure put him deep low in the water.
