He is the Firstborn

Beloved in Christ,

Our Lord is The firstborn from the dead (Colossians 1:18).

The weight of this statement increases as our lives cross the boundaries of the subsequent decades. While young, we tend to be concerned about revolutions, revivals and insurrections. But gradually, as some details of our bodies turn silver and we get closer and closer to the streets of gold, the subject of resurrection begins to be of our deeper interest. And this is where the word ”firstborn” touches the strings of hope. Firstborn is about Him. Firstborn is about us. You know what I mean. One day we all meet - to stay.
