Zambia: Sub-Sahara School

The Excellence Christian Academy in Kabwe continues to grow with some 215 students now being eagerly educated with a Christian worldview.

children_0705.jpg ITMI talked with the Director, Rev. Eugene Kalunga last month and we were delighted to learn that they have dug and prepared the foundation for three new classrooms. Now they trust the Lord to provide the walls and roof.

The amazing thing about ECA and Rev. Kalunga is they never mention any financial needs. (This is very unusual in Africa.) They simply trust the Lord for what they believe He wants them to do and then, by faith, start doing it.

You may remember that we first met this dear Brother when we discovered that he was home schooling 50 students in his tiny house! Later, ITMI was able to help him purchase some property that was previously owned by the Zambian Railway. Kalunga and his dedicated teacher-team have turned it into a first class educational institution with grades K-12.

It’s a law of physics: “Anything that moves produces friction.” ECA is moving for God. The powers of darkness have noticed. For years the Satanist have been recruiting children in various Zambian schools and initiating them in pagan rituals. According to Rev. Kalunga, ECA is “hard ground to penetrate.” But in April a neighbor abducted Rachael, the 13-year old daughter of Mr. Banda, ECA’s senior supervisor. She was found almost two months later about 110 miles south in Lusaka, where she was kept a prisoner with other girls. We praise the Lord that she is unscathed and safely home now.

Muslim influence is increasing in Zambia. The need for good Christian education is greater than ever. ECA has sent educational teams to Malawi and Lusaka, where they are building local Christian schools following the plan developed by Rev. Kalunga.

Would you like to help us cover the next generation in Zambia? We need about $10,000 to put up the walls and roof for the three new classrooms in Kabwe. They have skilled labor and have already begun work. They just need help with building materials.

ECA – training tomorrows leaders in Zambia, and not a moment too soon.
