Victorious Openings

It will soon be 5 years since Richard and Brooke Nungesser set off by faith to serve the Lord with ITMI in Poland. One evening, shortly after their arrival, they returned by train to their home in Poznan from a ministry trip to Gniezno. As they disembarked in the station their eyes were drawn to three homeless men shivering in the November cold. Richard was moved with compassion. He went home, filled a thermos with hot tea, pocketed some granola bars and headed back to the train station determined to meet an obvious need.

There he found many more homeless people, hungry for food and receptive to the Gospel. Out of the Nungesser’s “Train Station Ministry” (being faithful in little things) the Lord put it on their heart to launch Bread of Life Ministry, now a vital part of ITMI. Having taken one small step for mankind they realized immediately there was an urgent need for a giant leap for missions. God gave them the vision to trust Him for a facility where homeless people could find both shelter and the Savior.

Meet Jacek, (right) one of the first residents of the New Life Center and a recipient of the love of Christ through the New Life Center staff. Zbieszek (left) is another Polish man who is homeless no longer. He and Jacek will experience first hand the love that Jesus had for the needy while they are at the New Life Center.

The Nungessers were obedient to that vision. Now, 5 years and one brand new baby (Adelyne) later, they invite us to join with them and their Polish team in celebration of the opening of Poznan’s New Life Center. Congratulations Richard and Brooke!
