Overseas Snapshot

Tim Keller made two trips last month to dictator–devastated Zimbabwe. He delivered Boxes of Love, emergency relief aid and Gospel literature to starving people. He was able to equip local evangelists with Gospel Recordings audio–visual material and God’s Story VCD kits.

Derek Carlsen and his family are safely out of Zimbabwe and a life–threatening situation there. He has been invited to Chicago, as Senior Pastor at the Church of Christian Liberty in Arlington Heights, Il.

Peter Hammond, Tim Keller and Victoria Holland (ITMI 11–2002) were able to serve in Zambia at the Excellent Christian Academy with Eugene Kalunga, and at Covenant College on the Frontline Fellowship mission base in Eastern Zambia. Victoria stayed on at the FF base for several weeks.

We still have not received any response from the SPLA leadership regarding ITMI’s mission vehicle which they stole last month [see IN TOUCH MONTHLY April 03]. Many of you have written to SPLA’s leader, John Garang and his P.R. person Dr. Samson Kwaje. We are grateful. Please write again and keep praying.

Alicia van Huyssteen from South Africa, ITMI’s resident student at Moody Bible Institute, is adjusting to life in the US. She will be working as a volunteer this summer, dividing her time between the ITMI office and Christian radio station KFLR in Phoenix. MBI covers her tuition, but she needs $7,000 for next year’s room and board.

Rev. Piotr Zaremba has planted another church in Poznan, Poland. He is hard at work translating the Bible into Polish. ITMI’s newest missionary Jim LaRose has joined him there. Richard and Brooke Nungesser continue to see God at work in their Bread of Life ministry to the homeless and in teaching English as a second language.
